PBX In A Flash Scripts

This is not recommended for production machines as Xwindows/KDE will slow down Asterisk enough that you may not be able to use it. That being said some people who are new to Linux may find it beneficial to have a familiar GUI (Graphical User Interface) to work with. The nice thing about installing Xwindows/KDE this way is that it does not automatically start when you boot the system up. Rather you have to type startx to bring it up.

Thus I am changing the status these scripts to experimental and NOT for commercial production use. Please buy a license from digium if you want to use the g729 codec commercially, they are cheap.

Generate and Install new server keys (SSL)

The process of generating a self signed secure server key can be somewhat daunting to people new to Linux in general. This script will allow you to generate a self signed key for testing your PBX in a Flash. For example if you have an assigned FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) you will be able to enter it and generate various files so you will be able to access your PBX in a Flash securely. For example typing https://yourname.fqdn.org in your browser should open up a secure browser window to your PBX in a Flash over the internet.

Because of some security enhancements everyone who has run this script in the past should download the latest and rerun it. Either as below or run the Update Scripts program and it will install it automatically. You will still need to run it form the command line.

Welcome to the latest script page. This script will do the following:

• Installs the update-scripts program onto your PIAF system
• Once the program has been install simply type update-scripts at the CLI and tap the ENTER key
• Once the program is finished type help-pbx to see what new features have been added. Note this does not mean the new features have been installed! It means that the new features are available if you WISH to install or use them. Run update-scripts once a month or so to have the latest scripts installed on your system.

Here is a short script I use every day in my commercial installs. It will run the FreePBX backup script, Dump MySQl, and optionally copy it all via ftp, SMB, or onto a local USB flash drive.

Version 2.0 just released

You will need to do a complete reinstall to use some of the new features in version 2.0. Some highlights are easier configuration and emailing of log files. Also there is a critical update for mindi which has been causing some problems on a small number of systems. It is recommended all users upgrade to version 2.0 and remove the old /etc/cron.weekly/dailybackup.cron prior to installing version 2.0!

Update

Version 1.3.0 released. This release will provide you with some required conf files and load jabber and gtalk. There are also some modifications to extensions_custom.conf. Please read the following thread on our forums. Special thanks to Vik for the help!

Hi all. This is an ALPHA program that will install Web MeetMe 3.0.3 onto your PIAF system. I have done as complete an install as I can but you will have to configure ASTERISK to talk to MeetMe3. I hope some of you that experiment with this will write up your notes and send them to me in the forums. Once installed you will be able to access the web interface via the new Web MeetMe icon.

Overview

What does this script do? Think of it as caller ID on steroids. This script will lookup both US and Canadian caller id phone numbers and try to supply you with a name. If no name is available it will provide you with the rate center of the number (City/State). The software currently supports seven providers:
